SUMMARY:Noah’s Eagle Project – Work Day #2
DESCRIPTION:The city of Westlake has decided that the trail for Noah’s project needs to have another layer of stone. One more work day will be required to complete the project.. \n \nNoah’s project is to create a trail linking the access driveway to the Lilly Weston House to the walking path at the Westlake Recreation Center. The Weston house is a historic house on Center Ridge Road\, directly adjacent to the driveway of the Westlake Recreation Center. The project is in conjunction with the Westlake Historical Society and the City of Westlake. The trail is through a lightly wooded area. \nWhat to Bring\nPlease bring shovels\, heavy garden-style rakes\, and a wheelbarrow if you have one. \nWe know from experience that the key to this project is wheelbarrows.  The more we have\, the faster the project moves.  If you have a wheelbarrow but are unable to transport it\, let us know and we will pick it up with our van. \n\n440-777-4918 (landline)\ndfurin@gmail.com\n\nDate & Time\nSaturday\, September 16\, 2017 \n9:00 AM to 1:00 PM or until we run out of gravel to spread\, whichever comes first. \nLunch will be provided. \nFor Scouts in the NOHS Marching Band\, this is also the date of the Lakewood Band Show\, but your call time will be around 4PM so the project should not interfere. \nParking\nThe driveway on the Weston House property is a single lane that is in need of repair. Parking is possible but logistically difficult if someone needs to leave and there are several cars behind them. (To exit the drive you need to back out onto Center Ridge Road.) \nThe best option is to drop off Scouts and equipment at the site\, then park in the Recreation Center’s playground parking lot and walk back to the site. You could also drop off along the Rec Center driveway next to the walking trail (the trail is to the right of the Rec Center drive).
