A date has been set for the backpacking trip in April. Due to conflicts with Palm Sunday and Easter, we have set the date towards the end of the month: April 25-27th.
There will not be a camp out in May, but we are participating in the Memorial Day parade and performing our traditional cemetery honors.
For our new Scouts and parents: The city of North Olmsted, in conjunction with the VFW, has Memorial Day ceremonies at the Old Town Hall and at two cemeteries (Coe Cemetery on Lorain Road and Butternut Cemetery on Butternut Ridge Road). Scouts from throughout the city participate. In addition, Troop 664 honors our deceased Scoutmasters each year by visiting their graves in Sunset Memorial Park (on Columbia Road). We perform a small ceremony at each grave to honor them and acknowledge their contributions and dedication to the Troop. Finally, we march in the North Olmsted Memorial Day parade from city hall to the North Olmsted Park.
June will be very busy with a camp out for All Scouts Weekend (June 6-8) followed by SUMMER CAMP (June 15-21).
